Likewise, allthough I had no idea it was A.J. and I was only 12 in 1978 - it was to be another 5 years before I picked up the electric bass. I didn't hear the A.J. name until 1987 on the Ai di Meola album 'Tiramisu'. Of course then it all fell into place.

Speaking frankly, it’s a shame that such a challenging undertaking that documents Anthony Jackson’s finest hours only has a thousand subscribers. I can’t even come up with a snarky comment about this because it’s such a sobering confirmation of the artistically dark times we live in.

I've been digging Charles' stuff for several years and agree 100%, his channel is an absolute gold mine of great music. What I really appreciate about him - apart from his obvious love of AJ's work of course - is (1) the time he puts into those transcriptions, and (2) watching him sight-read them as the cursor moves across the notation at the bottom of the screen. Not only very instructive, but an excellent insight into AJ's genius for composing/executing bass parts in that unique style of his.
