Transcription of Classic Anthony Jackson

Charles Nagtzaam is the player in the above short clip. He has a Youtube channel that features dozens of his Anthony Jackson transcriptions and playalongs, and it’s all done in an accurate and professional manner. It’s truly a treasure trove of AJ content.

Speaking frankly, it’s a shame that such a challenging undertaking that documents Anthony Jackson’s finest hours only has a thousand subscribers. I can’t even come up with a snarky comment about this because it’s such a sobering confirmation of the artistically dark times we live in.

Anyway, not my intention to drag a dead dog into all this - enjoy! https://youtube.com/@charlesngtzm

I've been digging Charles' stuff for several years and agree 100%, his channel is an absolute gold mine of great music. What I really appreciate about him - apart from his obvious love of AJ's work of course - is (1) the time he puts into those transcriptions, and (2) watching him sight-read them as the cursor moves across the notation at the bottom of the screen. Not only very instructive, but an excellent insight into AJ's genius for composing/executing bass parts in that unique style of his.
