Hi all. I'm new to this bass game...having just bought an Ashdown ABM 600 head this morning the treble just stop working for me. The equaliser seems to be ok, just the actual knob not reponding whilst turning up and down. The unit hasn't been banged or dropped..it just went muddy this morning. Any ideas fro. You guys? I've rang the AD up where I bought it from and I can take it back no problem. Just won't be able to get there for a while. Any advice or trouble shooting tips would be appreciated! Cheers. Jim

If the horns were blown, it would most likely become very obvious. It would also be highly unlikely that both horns would blow simultaneously, without making an awful sound that would have indicated to you something was wrong. The issue will likely be with the head, and since you're new to the game, the head is new and you haven't much experience with bass heads, your best bet is to send it back. Aside from powering down, and jiggling the knob to see if it's a loose connection, there's not much else you can do.

Sorry, I meant to add, woofers still respond to equalization, your cab just won't have sizzling highs. A lack of ANY tonal difference suggests the amp.

Thanks mate. I hear ya. Even when I'm adjusting the EQ for highs it still sound very muddy. See what the AD says in the morning. Cheers.
