Tribute Band Names

Iron Maidens
Lez Zeppelin
Zeparella
Judas Priestess
Bitchfits (all female Misfits trib, I used to work with ‘Glenn’, or was it ‘Glenda’?). They had been called Ms. Fits, but they changed it after a cease and desist.

Most of the time, if it’s a standard ‘recreate the experience’ band, they just use a best known, apropos song title; not very imaginative, but I guess it gets the idea across for advertising purposes. Nothing beats Midget Kiss for sheer spectacle.

For popular tributes - like ACDC (and my God there are so many of them in the world) -- the best names are used repeatedly. You can't get away from it.

Clever names are good but the name should suggest the band - often its the name of the band's most popular album or single like "Back in Black", "Rocket Man", or "Never Mind" or something - but sometimes they are funny clever, suggest both the band and the fact they are a tribute

Proxy Music (for Roxy Music)
Faux Fighters (Foo Fighters)
The Rolling Clones (The Stones)
Fleetwood Mock (Fleetwood Mac)
Nearvana (Nirvana)
The Fab Faux (Beatles)
The Alter Eagles (Eagles)
