:p Greetings everyone. I recently built two cabinets. My goal was to have two cabinets I could easily load into in the back seat of my small pickup truck. Lightweight was a must so I chose one kappalite 3012LF for each cabinet. The cab dimensions are H24", D13x5", W18.5". I used i/2 birch plywood with 2x1 braces at every internal joint. Have not placed it on a scale yet but it is fairly light (with speaker) The speaker is centered so I placed the vent across the bottom. It is 1.5"x13" 5: deep. WinISD suggested a vent 1.25"x17.5" x7" deep. but I compromised. I honestly cannot picture it sounding much different if the vent was relocated.
Your Thoughts are appreciated though.

What was the suggested vent depth. Seems awfully large for no depth off the top of my head...

Lightweight was a must so I chose one kappalite 3012LF for each cabinet. The cab dimensions are H24", D13x5", W18.5". I used 1/2 birch plywood with 2x1 full length braces at each join. Have not placed it on a scale yet but it is fairly light with speaker. The speaker is centered and I placed the vent across the bottom rather than the side. The vent is 1.5"x13". WinISD suggested a vent 1.25"x17.5" and 7" deep. I compromised and used a 5.5" deep vent. I honestly cannot picture it sounding much different if the vent was a little deeper.

You aren't that far off on the opening size. It looks like there is room to play with the length of the shelf, hard to tell. It also looks like you can also enlarge the opening at the bottom if desired.

It comes down to how it sounds now and if there are any port related issues such as huffing. The WinISD numbers are a starting point for fine iteration of the design, the numbers are not written in stone. Listening tests will determine when you are satisfied.
