I have an early '70s SVT. What is the EXT AMP jack on the rear panel? Thanks.

I invite readers to comment. As I understand it, it allows one to run an additional amp for larger set-ups using only one amp's tone controls. If you are playing venues big enough to need that, I bet the sound engineer can explain in detail how it works.

If you're playing a venue where an SVT isn't loud enough I would hope that there would be PA support. Some very good ear plugs wouldn't be a bad idea either.
