Volume difference arco to pizz?

Hi Lynn,
Do you have difficulty with different volumes when you switch between arco and pizz? and if not, why not? Do you do something different to reduce the issue? or is it your setup?

Hi Tom, Sorry for the long delay in replying. I used to get an email notice when someone posted a question for me. That did not happen. I think that is now fixed.
Regarding the volume, If you are pulling as hard as you can when walking, then go to bow a solo, it will definitely be quieter. I tend to start walking in the middle of my volume range so I can grow in volume and intensity with the band. A lot depends on the bass, pickup and amplifier regarding how much contrast there might be between the two volumes. Some people use a volume pedal, some rely on the house sound engineer if there is one.

You are welcome Tom. Yes, Latvia is a beautiful place! There are many Art Deco buildings in Riga. It seems to be a Bass Friendly place as you can see from the sculpture picture below!
