Waiting for FedEx for NGD

Awaiting a delivery today. If all goes well, today should be a NGD.

For those who saw the mass 61+ Instrument TB Classified post of @xnewyorka I spotted his reference to a 1984 Guild X-88 Flying Star Motley Crüe model which only pops up for sale occasionally, at exorbitant prices. He suggested a good price and I jumped on it.

I hadn’t imagined my very first TB Classified purchase would be a guitar, but I’m excited nonetheless.

Now I sit, staring out the window, waiting for a delivery van arrive.

Happy to see this very cool guitar go to somebody who will appreciate it!
I always found it very amusing that Guild misspelled the band's name in their price list!
To my knowledge, this was the only one built with the pink and blue custom graphics scheme.

Just realized I never updated this thread. Yes, it arrived today. I sat down with it and before I knew it, 2 hours flew by.

Fun Fact: I had a fan nearby. Between playing, whenever the fan would blow toward the guitar, it would emanate sound. For example, I could fret a chord and it would ring out just with the fan.

I’m a fan of the 80’s Guild “X” series guitars. X-79/80/82/88/100. The 88 is now checked off my wishlist. 1 down, 4 to go. Too bad Fender didn’t release anything cool like this after they acquired Guild.

My photography skills are not the best. These are some pictures the seller provided to me.

That is so 80's, I find myself strangely compelled to don a white linen suit with a pastel t-shirt, push the jacket sleeves up to my elbows, wear deck shoes without socks. :woot:

In short: It is glorious!! Congrats!! :D
