Walrus Audio Julia

I couldn't find anything good on the Julia while I was doing research. Nothing written on it for bass, no demos. This is the response that I got from Walrus when I e-mailed them

"I will let you know that the Julia shines on Bass since the chorus and vibrato is a knob and not a switch between the two, so you can just add in a little chorus to your signal and then you will still get the punch from your bass. We also have a 10 day return policy, so if you are not satisfied with the pedal then you can just send it back for a full refund."

I did go ahead and place an order - they were 20% off this weekend so it was a good time. I'll let you know how it goes.

Did you end up liking the Julia for bass?

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to chime in as I just got this pedal. I like it a lot but not enough to knock my Aguilar Chorusauras off my board. It looks cool, it has a cool blinking intensity light and it makes your harmonics really shine more so than my Aguilar but.....the Aguilar retains more low end. The Julia seems to be voiced a bit higher as such it looses the low end. It's not bad it's just that I prefer the Chorussaurus for general slow chorus as my tone doesn't change like it does with the Julia. I'm going to use the Julia on my little Looper Board that has an octaver and filter. I wonder if anyone else has compared the Julia to other more bass eccentric pedals like the Aguilar or MXR etc.

i had a Julia for awhile. It is a very mellow chorus. You will not get an 80's chorus sound. I loved the pedal, and the knob that lets you blend between chorus and vibrato was amazing. But I was searching for an 80's style chorus, and ended up with an EHX bass clone that I love more.

I came across this video and the sample of the Julia completely turned me into a pedal crazed maniac on a quest. (Not really but it did give me the pedal bug). After watching a few days worth of other pedal samples I couldn’t hear another that sounded better. Yep, I ordered one and anxiously awaiting Julia’s arrival. I’m curious what other chorus pedals you all decided on and why? For me, this one combined with the vibrato effect sounds so much richer compared to other samples I heard.

I ended up getting one after I posted a while back and still love it. I find that the blend is really important for not losing low end on bass. The trade off is that it prevents you from having more traditional chorus and vibrato. It still works really well for what I want a chorus pedal to do.
