I got hard GAS with this pickup when I tried one on a friends jazz bass. His is a Fender jazz with a BS-DS in the neck and bridge position. I'm kinda undecided on where I should place it. On one hand, I'd like to get a beefed up jazz tone from my P, by installing it in the bridge position. But there's also a part of me that wants to install it in the neck position, right by the neck heel to get a fatter bottom end tone. Dang! What to do? Anyone have any experience with either one of these options? How good of a Jazz tone can I get by installing the BS-DS on my P, in the bridge postion? Second, where would be the optimal placement on my P? In the MM position (closer to the bridge) or in the regular Jazz bridge postion (closer to the existing split pup)? Not too many sound samples floating around the interweb of a P with the BS-DS. Links or sound samples would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

I've heard that Curtis' take on this pickup is very good. If you are leaving the precision pickup in place, I would suggest mounting the BS-DS in the 60's jazz position. Which precision bass do you have?

2007 Highway One "Franken" P bass. It's the bass in my profile pic. Where exactly is the 60's jazz position? I really wish there were some sound samples. I would like to hear how it'd interact with the split coil P pup.

I don't know the measurement, but it's slightly further away from the bridge than the 70's position. I don't know of any P/BiSonic instruments, but it's gotta sound good. I used to enjoy playing my Dark Star Tribute JB2 with a blues band:

The pickups were mounted so that the poles were in the 60's jazz positions. I sold it a few years ago. The buyer cannibalized the pickups for use in another bass...
