So I'm learning video stuff and working on hymns on guitar. And I do this lovely 200 (okay, 197) year old hymn. Me playing acoustic guitar and singing. (I won't share my crayon art here, not ready for that... ) Like every bit of this is my performance of a public domain song.

And I get copyright claimed. For the Melody. This burns me up. I'm not a YouTuber, not trying to be. Like 20 people will ever see a video I put up. I started the video stuff for self review. But this one angers me because they don't own the melody either .

Be a shame if something happened to your YouTube channel kid. Yeah I disputed it. Because I can afford to lose my channel . The bots are out of control and there seems to be no recourse. Only patchwork appeals that are seldom successful.

I'm curious if anyone has successfully released an original blues tune on YouTube without being copyright claimed. I'm doubtful that's even possible today.

Unless you're a YTer with a massive base, what difference does it make to you what platform you use?
Try Rumble as I don't think fair use is an issue there.
In lots of regards YT just sucks.
