Warwick Corvette Standard (passive) suddenly developed loud buzz. Yowza!

Hidy-ho. I've been playing this 2008 Warwick Corvette Standard 5 since it was new, and it's always been a quiet bass. Until yesterday. Now it's making all kinds of racket, a loud buzz (not a hum), doesn't matter which amp or which outlet I plug it into. My P-bass is dead silent in the same scenario, as is my Jazz.

I took the bridge off and made sure the ground was properly seated in the cavity, and I re-soldered the connections on the jack, to no effect.

The buzz is like any other, where it fades as I turn away from my amp, but I have always sat in the same chair to practice, at the same distance from my amp, and it never made this kind of noise. The buzz fades a bit when I turn the tone control all the way down.

Over time, the pots have become more and more "slack"; they turn with very little resistance.

I'm considering simply replacing the guts on this bass, is there a US source for the pre-wired harness that's available out of Germany on their website?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas on this.

I checked the grounding as far as I could without disassembling the whole thing, and resoldered the jack connections. It does it in both the amps I have at my disposal (GK1001rbII and a PV Max112), and it does it on different circuits in the house.

The Warwick shop in Nashville has those parts in stock, much cheaper than ordering from Germany. They have a luthier also on staff. I took my 1994 Fortress One 5-string in last month for a check-up, thinking I would need to replace all the electronics (but not the MEC pups). I was quoted about $350 - $400 for all new plus labor. But when they took everything out and checked it, I just had a few wires that had come loose. Also a lot of dirt. They re-soldiered the wires and cleaned everything above and below and that fixed all my issues. I don't have their phone number handy but they are on the internet. ALSO, go to the Warwick website and go to the forum. You will get good advice and questions there.
