I like the additional EQ band, and am curious to hear how well the mid controls are placed/interact with each other.
it seems to be closer to the older Warwick amps. BC80/150 have: 60, 800, 2500, 10000 (but with uneven taper, allowing easier fine-tuning for mids) and it was a pretty usable and natural sounding EQ. 80/600/2500/5000 seems not very far from it, at least the magical 2.5k frequency is back. I'd say, it should be closer to traditional Wick EQ stack than the 3-band Gnomes, and that stack was pretty decent.
strangely, I'm not interested in the big Gnome. a huge 3kg amp without a pre-EQ DI and with a fan and air intake on sides (acceptable for smaller amps, but not really that rackmount-friendly). all resulting in nor compact (competing Eich is 1/2 the weight and size, but frankly at twice the price, which is kinda expected for made in Germany vs made in China product), nor really feature-rich amp. the price is attractive tho, and likely it will sell good, if the time proves it to be reliable.
on the top of this, the older Wick heads often were considered to be underpowered, compared to competition. ProFet, WA, LWA -- whatever. 600W looks massive on the paper, but we'll only know with time if it's loud.
