Hi everyone!
I'd like to know if any of you ever tried one of those basses. I'm falling in love with warwick basses sound lately, but most of the time i found that who has that sound i like, uses thumb or streamer or other basses WAY out of my budget. Which is not big. So i found that this Rockbass is quite good in clips. I know that newer rockbass models (those with the W on the headstock) are not bad as they used to be. I also know that german basses are better (may be the woods, the expertise, PU positioning, whatevs) but this Corvette sounded nice to me. It has swamp ash body, three pieces maple neck, warwick hardware, everything seems fine. I read somewhere that electronic isn't excellent, but replacing stock push/pull knobs with bigger ones (250k to 500k if i remember correctly) could really do the trick.
I cannot try the bass myself before buying, so here i am asking to you about your experience with those Corvette.
Are they any good? Are they anywhere close to that smooth, growling, adorable warwick sound? If not, is there any alternative out there in a 400/600€ price range?
Thanks!

This is the bass. Double Humbucker MM Style. Still not sure if 4 or 5 strings, but i'll decide that later.

I got the passive basic medium scale version in Natural Satin in 2014 and enjoy it. However, the MEC jazz bass style pickups that are on my bass are quite noisy unless they are at matched volume levels. I bought it new. I have no experience with the pups that are pictured on the bass you're considering.

Compared to my 93 German streamer which is a rock-hard heavy monster the Korean $$ Corvette is rather lightweight. Nevertheless I fully appreciate the look, sturdyness, sound and playability of the rockbass a lot. Putting in active electronics could be a good change. Mine is splittable, so I also get the clear singlecoil-sounds out of it. My first bass and surely a keeper. Mind the trussrod and neck-geometry to avoid fretbuzz or too high string-action. Good luck.

I'm quite happy with those answers. I was ready to read a lot less love for that bass! Where i live (Italy, but i'm talking about my friends and other musicians i know, not the country), Warwick basses, be them german made or rockbass alike, are not very appreciated, no idea why. It's nice to know that even Rockbass instruments can be loved!
