warwick streamer jazzman pickup replacement

Has anyone replaced the mec pickups with nordstrand or anything else? What differences in tone in each pickup did you notice?

Can't comment on the streamer specifically but I've found that Warwick's MEC pups have a very specific mid range quality (the warwick "growl), that other pickups do not. When I replaced my Warwick's pups with Nordstrand pickups, I definitely lost that special character sound but gained a smoothness and an openness in the tone of that bass that wasn't there before. That bass and sits a lot better in a mix now, which could be good or bad, depending on the situation... I kind of miss the way the bass used to pop thru the sound of the band and assert itself, even though it now works better as an all-around instrument.
