I have been looking for a Washburn S1000 bass for a while, and have found one for sale
with its original case.
The bass looks like new, with that glossy sheen on it and all the metal pieces.

My question is - Is the owners asking price of $1350 plus shipping unreasonable, or what for a mint condition version of this bass.

Thanks for your opinion, Bruce, on the coast of South Carolina

One sold here in 2010 for $600ish.

SOLD - FS/FT Status/Washburn S1000

This one sold on Reverb for $598.

Washburn Status Series 1000 1988 - 1989 Translucent Red / Black Washburn Status Series 1000 1988 - 1989 Translucent Red / Black

This one went for $800.
Google Image Result for https://images.reverb.com/image/upload/s--aVzK1Bje--/a_exif,c_limit,e_unsharp_mask:80,f_auto,fl_progressive,g_south,h_620,q_90,w_620/v1469407148/dk9ywsdv7fzwmwxcqbla.jpg

And that was a three minute Google search. I'm thinking, yes, that asking price is way out of line.

Thanks, I did the search and saw those same prices, and thought $1500 was quite high, but was wondering if like new had anything to do with this question. I have, for now stopped looking for an S1000 as I had an offer for a pre-Fender Kubicki Ex Factor accepted. I am sure that will satisfy my new bass want. Thanks again, Bruce

Kubiki basses are very cool. New Bass Day thread with pics when you get it!

Sweet! Yes, $1500 was way high for the Washburn, even "like new". You're approaching the used price of an actual Status at that point. On the other hand, the Kubucki is way cool...

I did manage to snag a nice Washburn S-1000 and it is due here today. Timing was not very good with the Kubicki ex Factor, pre-Fender arriving this past Monday, but got a fair deal on the S-1000.
The S-1000 is in the wood finish, but really wanted the red finish. Maybe someone will swap with me down the line.
Thanks all for comments on the S-1000 pricing.
