Weak signal received from the bass player at the mixer (SoundcraftUi24R)

The signal travels from the passive bass, through some pedals, into a DI, 40' XLR to 75' snake to SoundcraftUi24R mixer - input channel 1.

I'm going to replace the 40' cable with new.
Any suggestions to improve the signal strength appreciated.

My only suggestions would be to make sure the -15db pad on the Radial is OFF. Then check that the mixer channel input gain control is turned up enough to give the needed gain. Don't be afraid to turn up the mixer channel input gain. Some sound guys might whine about setting the channel gain high, but sometimes you have to. Frankly, that's why the control is there.

Well, bwildt, you nailed it. I had my bass player check his DI. The -15db was ON. Now I'll have more signal at the board. Thanx !!!!

( I wonder if an active DI would make an added improvement in signal strength.)

If you are comparing Radials, then yes, the active J48 has more output gain than the passive JDI.

But the JDI you are using (or the passive Pro version, not sure what you have) has plenty if output for the task at hand.
