Hey guys.

So... trying to revive an old project bass buildt with left over Fender parts.
Worked pretty good ’til we installed the old Fender pickups from my CS Fender Jazz 64 NOS - 00.

So first - It sounds great but the copper shielding doesn’t work and there is a severe ground problem that results in hizzes and bad buzzing and it feels like the pickups are loaded and angry. When touching the bridge it’s ok silent.

Second - It doesn’t go silent when all pots are turned off... there’s still sound. Quiet but significant.

What am I doing wrong???
I followed the CS Jazz Bass pickup wiring schematic.
Here’s some pics of the debacle...
Really greatful if anyone could save me from turning completely bald and dead inside :)

Reverse the leads on the neck pickup, and while you're at it put a jumper in from the back of the vol to the back of the others. Practice you soldering skills first.

Thanks... will try.

Just so I’m on the same page...
Change leads on bridge = change pos on black and white...?
(Just a remark... changed the cables due to a brutal phase problem)...but maybe I did something wrong then.

Jumper = small bits of cable that runs between pots?
Back of the pots?... where’s that?
On one of those three small dohickies that’s attached to the pots?

Forgive me for my extreme noobi-skills and comments. :)

Q. Change leads on bridge = change pos on black and white...?
A. Yes that.

Q. Jumper = small bits of cable that runs between pots?
A. Yes,

Q. Back of the pots?... where’s that?
A. That is where the white lead you are going to move is presently located.
