Hello y'all!

Totally new member here, only been playing bass for about a year and a half so bear with me if I'm not entirely familiar with technical details and terms. Any input is helpful!

So I went out and got a Fender Rumble 100 amp a while ago (fantastic budget amp, would recommend) and apparently purchased it during a Guitar Center promo. As part of this promo, they've sent me $70 worth of "guitar center bucks" or something similar that can only be spent in the next 5 days on anything in the guitar center store (online or in person). (I've also confirmed this is legit, not a scam)

I've got a low end bass, plenty of Ernie Ball strings (flat wound, my dudes), a good kit bag, a decent fuzz pedal, and plenty of cords.......so what do I get? Don't particularly need anything and wasn't aware of the promo at the time, so I've got no idea what to buy and just 5 days to buy it.

Looking for any suggestions on what to get at guitar center for 50-80 dollars or so. Thanks y'all!

Alas, I've got a small tuner that does the job, and I don't gig nearly enough/have enough pedals/have the technical know-how to utilize or justify investment in an equalizer pedal. But I will check them out, see if it's something I could use down the line, thanks!

- #1 get a couple of sets of decent ear plugs - I use Etymotics. Always good to have when the rehearsal/concert/venue gets too loud. Unlike cheap foam plugs, decent ones won't muffle the high end. Don't cheap out - it may be the best $10-30 you ever spend. I'm 51, and still have all my hearing. I like it that way.

- good guitar stand and/or wall mount if you want to hang your bass on your wall.

- try a set or two of round wound strings.

- nice strap

- clip on tuner (always good to have one in your case

I'd suggest the most bullet-proof tuner I know of, the Boss TU-2 or TU-3. They mute while tuning, they're easy to read while standing, and you can't kill 'em. I bought a Korg a while back and I'm going to pull it and put my old TU-2 back.

Unless you need to power other pedals from the TU-3 tuner, there's not much difference between it and a TU-2.

A good tuner (not a basic one) is a truly handy thing, and the muting switch (while tuning, or on break) is more valuable than you may think.

Just saw a new post above - GUITAR STAND should be high on your list. The Ultimate GS-100 is one of the best, and the Hercules GS414 is very nice.

Hello again!
Just got an email regarding an update to this thread, and while it has been a while, I do have an answer to the epochs old question "what to spend guitar center bucks on".

I had really everything I need, so in a completely impulsive fashion I bought the iRig HD2. It's a small black thing the size of a matchbox that lets me run my bass (or guitar, if I had one) into an speaker (acting as a head would to an amp) or app (on my phone or PC). This is extremely helpful; as a student, dorm life + bass = unhappy floormates. Add the iRig into the equation and life is good.
Some basic research tells me that the first few versions are plagued with glitches and poor sound quality, which I can concur; it's not a user friendly system, the sound quality is on par with an amp you'd get at a garage sale for $20 bucks, and I've kinda had to Frankenstein the software together. That being said, it was an incredibly good purchase. I can now practice with headphones while my roomie chills just a few feet away, and all they hear is slapping strings on cheap frets. The other major pro is that some software allows you to play actual music in the background, meaning I can play over a song I'm trying to learn. Very helpful for an amateur such as myself.

Thanks for your respective inputs!
