The cheapest current T40 on Reverb is $760. 12 T40s have sold on Reverb for less than $650. This one sold for $599 with free shipping. If the one you're looking at buying is in worse cosmetic condition, offer $500 and cite past reverb sales and condition. Do your research.

Look at comparable sale history on Reverb?

Welcome
Well that’s where I’m lost I’ve seen multiple across reverb eBay and marketplace ranging from 600-2000. I’m looking to buy play for a bit and flip if I can break even that’s fine to I don’t need to profit. It’s just at first look it looked kinda profitable. That’s a pic for reference she’s been played for sure supposedly all works gonna go look at it when I can since it’s only 30 minutes away.

If you can play in person, take cash and offer less. There would be no fees to worry about then and no shipping if they offered low or no cost shipping. How much would I pay? I’m not a fan, so I wouldn’t want it if given to me.

The weight reputation is true, but they can be great sounding basses. The electronics was pretty sophiticated for it's day, now it's nothing special. You can get a decent Ric emulation out of them with new rounds and the treble cranked. Like a lot of Peavey gear of that era, pretty bulletproof, but HEAVY. As others have said, if any of the parts are broken, forget about finding a replacement unless you are willing to spend some cash. They aren't particularly rare, and there was a resurgence of interest in them on TB a couple years ago that seems to have waned. I seem to recall a thread or club dedicated to them on TB, try searching there. Some people love them, so there's something to it.
