Which amp to buy and why

Trying to decide 1 Fender rumble 150 3 years old ,150.00
2 Peavy 115 tnt s Sheffield old but looks like new. 100.00
Amp will be used at home.
What do you say people?

Are they available close enough to you that you can play through both of them while using your bass before buying?
If so, play em' both and let "your" ears decide which.

"To my ears", all PV combos have always sounded boxy, but their dependability is top-notch.
The older Fender Rumbles sound alittle more open with better low end extension than the PV's cabinet, but their dependability (from my experience) isn't on par with the PV.

Shoot thanks for your response I am leaning towards the Pv the rumble is pending sale.
I just started practicing I used to play guitar a little but got my two fingers smashed years ago and couldn't do six strings got to frustrated. But bass seems doable progressing slowly but I'm going to do it.
I'm playing an old Guild bass .

Sorry to hear about your fingers.

I've a bass play'in friend that has two fingers gone from each hand. He can out play me, but I'm better lookin' than he is, so it all balances out :D.

Let us know how it turns out when you get your amp.

It all depends on how big your home is. Any amp with more than 50 watts will be overkill, and you may not be able to crank up the amp enough to get the sweet spot tone. For home and studio use, $150 buys a lot of options for >50 watts of power.
