Which companies make 5 string sets with tapered B?

I searched this in the forums and lots of info there, but it's all several years old. I'm guessing there have been product changes since those posts went up.

For reference, I am waiting on delivery of a new G&L MJ-5 active Jazz. That is a 34" scale 5 string bass and I expect I will have to do some experimenting to find the right strings for it. I am a big fan of flatwounds so I have a set of La Bella 760FL-B here, and a set of Rotosound Swing Bass 5's.

My experience to date seems to indicate that tapered B's are easier to intonate and set for nice action, so if the La Bellas and Rotos don't pan out I need to know what I can check out for alternatives. (The flats have a tapered B, I don't think the Rotos do)

If you want "Sets" there are not as many options to you as there are a 4-string set and single B-string for example...

Cleartone - 4-String w/ Single B


D'Addario - 4-String w/ Single B (XL Nickel, ProSteels, Half-Rounds, NYXL)

DR Lo-Riders - 4-String w/ Single Long Neck B

Dunlop Strings - Nickel and Stainless Tapered SETS available

Elixir Strings - 4-String w/ Single B (both Nickel and Stainless)

Fender 8250 has a Tapered E and B

Fodera - All their sets are available with a Tapered B-String option

GHS Strings - 4-String sets with "Saddle Hugger" B-strings available

Ken Smith - 5-String SETS with Tapered B-Strings available. Burners, Slap / Rock / Metal Masters, Slick Rounds, Compression Wound

La Bella - All Low-B strings are Tapred EXCEPT in RX / Vapor Shield / LTF Sets. Tapered B in, Nickel Plated Steel Round Wound Series, Stainless Steel Round Wound Series, Super Alloy, Deep Talkin' Flats, Deep Talkin' Tapes. Super Steps are ALL Exposed strings.

MTD - All pre-packaged sets have Exposed B-strings

Pedulla - All sets have tapered A E B strings

Sadowsky - All sets have tapered B strings

SIT Strings - 4-String Power Wound Nickels and single Power Tapered B-string. Taper Wound sets have tapered E and B

Spector - NPS sets, 603 Sets have tapered E and B strings.
