- Former Ampeg Regional Touring Artist, Currently Playing Overwater Basses
My bass teacher at Berklee:
Marcus Miller is a genius level musician, period. I have been listening to Marcus Miller maybe 45 years, and I have never heard him play a bad note.Marcus Miller, every note is a diamond.
My bass teacher at Berklee:
...I think I have a couple of his books. Back when you hadda use a phone to place the order. Gotta love a guy that answers his own phone.Tony Vitti is your favorite slap player?!?!
I'm sure Tony would be the first to encourage you to get out more, expand your horizons, and listen to a ton of other bassists
...not because Tony isn't an excellent slap player (or an excellent bassist all around) but because he is a genuinely humble musician who understands where journeymen fit in the world compared to the pantheon of truly brilliant innovators.
