Can someone fill me in on some things?

Why don't these things have a truss rod like an electric bass?
I know the NS has a removable truss rod but most conventional ones have none.

What do you do if it starts to warp? I mean the tension is greater than a electric bass, I would think they would warp, twist, etc right? Do they Shave the neck if all hell breaks loose?

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I figure electric bass players have a better knowledge of the truss rod than DB players who don't deal with them.

Thanks for all information in advance.

A DB neck is too short and heavy to effectively use a truss rod. Glue a 1/2" thick piece of ebony on it, and you'd need a 1/4" rod torqued with an 18" breaker bar.

Relief is scraped into the fb at setup. Plus, you don't need the precision that you might demand with a EBG.

Thanks for the information. Now that you put it into perspective, I guess it's just too massive and solid. Now I am not even sure if there were one, it would do any good.

All of the above being said, some repair-tech luthiers now are installing carbon fiber rods as neck reinforcements for DB.

True. Others are installing them on the original build just as EBG builders are installing them. High quality woods with excellent stability are becoming more rare and thus more expensive. The added stability is needed.
