Will standard mini toggle switches fit in a Warmoth top-routed body?

...just what the question asks.

I have a rear-routed Warmoth body that I'd like to use a couple of mini toggle switches on, but I don't know for sure that the 3/8" long threaded shaft is long enough to be screwed securely thru a 1/4" thick top. It's a 1/8" difference, duh, but I'd rather not drill the holes until I know from a few people here that it'll work. I ask because 1) most of the Warmoth builds I've seen where switches were used have an additional few mm of wood removed to allow the threaded section more room to accept the nut, and 2) it's Saturday evening and Warmoth isn't open to call and ask.

Does there exist a mini-toggle with a longer threaded shaft, but same diameter?

As long as the threaded part is actually 3/8” and the top is 1/4” you should be fine. If needed, you should be able to get a Forstner bit the same size as the switch body and relieve inside the control cavity a little. The Forstner makes a flat bottomed hole but you will want to use a drill press to do it.


Edit: it was bugging me so I just went downstairs and checked. I have a body that the switch hole is .234” thick. A toggle with 3/8” of thread had 4-5 threads showing through the body, more than enough. One with a 5/16” threaded section had about 2 threads showing out the top. Less than I’d like but still usable.
