Obligatory pile 'o wood shot.

Mostly walnut, with a couple of maple stringers, and some maple accent veneer. 5 string, 33.25 scale, fretless. Not sure of the pickup or hardware yet. I'm thinking even the fingerboard will be walnut, coated with epoxy.

I saw a Marleaux Diva in the classifieds a few months back, and fell in love. It may be almost as sexy as a Rickenbacker. Of course, way too expensive to actually buy, so I guess I'll have to build one.

It'll look something like this.

Still a bit under the weather, so I expect to actually make some sawdust either this weekend, or the next.

That oval pickup cover is becoming a signature of your designs. I like it. It looks nice in your designs, makes them distinctive, and allows you the flexibility of playing with different coil formulas, but fitting within the same housing.

Get well, and get back to your workbench!

Oh yeah...
Marleux's are sweet. & you are gonna kill it!

They use the same type of string anchor's on that bass as Ritter... & somebody else across the pond...

Which are also the subject of a thread I started... (was thinking of using them on my Arachnophilia bass.)
Anyway... @Bruce Johnson chimed in with some ideas on how to make them.
But I'd bet dollars to dognuts... he might whip you up a set... If you ask him real nice like... ;)

These don't need to be set in at an angle. The wall is thick enough to just do a little undercut inside... or drill the hole at an angle.
The fact that they are embedded (with a slot in the wood) gives them the strength needed.

Ah yes, thank you for reminding me. I found these:

on Amazon. They're stainless steel pipe end fittings. I may be able to make them work.
