So I've never built a pedal before and have VERY limited knowlegde when it comes to the inside of a pedal. I'm just wondering how complicated it would be to do this?

My idea is to have a Aguilar Tonehammer and Tech 21 SansAmp Bass driver DI in one enclosure.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

With limited knowledge I would say it might a little tricky, bordering on risky. First off, the TH runs at 18-20 Volts and the Sans Amp at 9 Volts. Second, without some detailed knowledge of the circuitry itself, you couldn't easily do any combining of things - you would literally just be taking out all the guts, switches and jacks and remounting them in a new enclosure.

If you really want/need something like this, I'd go to a pedal manufacturer or pedal modification specialist and have it done. Be prepared to answer questions like, do you want individual or a combined XLR out, do you want to be able to access each "system" individually, combined or have a switching capability, etc.?

I gues what I really want to find out if it's possible to rehouse both of them in the same enclosure. And if powering them both with batteries is safe. Thanks for you input

FWIW, I own and use both pedals. While I don't do it often, they can work well together and others have reported the same thing. If it were me, I'd simply enjoy the flexibility of taking one, either or both boxes to a gig. If you think you'd always like to have both all the time, a small/nano pedal board could be a good option. You could even get a single power supply that could give both 9 and 18 volt isolated power.

I'm just brainstorming. The chances of me actually going through with it is like 10% :roflmao:

I'm just really curious. I'm thinking it would be cool

As long as critical things are kept appropriately isolated, in my opinion it's doable. The enclosures themselves simply provide a way to mount and protect all the pieces/parts.
