Wisdom = Knowledge + Experience

Hi Leland,

I really don't have any specific questions for you, but wanted to share something with all the bassists who hang out here to learn from you as a mentor and a role model.

One of the things I've always enjoyed is reading/watching interviews where you reflect on your career openly and candidly, sharing your perspective not only on being a bassist but also on being a complete musician and a easy-to-get-along-with human being. ;) Thanks for your down-to-earth and easy-going way of sharing golden nuggets of wisdom. Here's to the King of the Whole Note... :thumbsup:

I thoroughly enjoyed that. Thanks for posting that.

There’s a thing I don’t normally do, and that’s spend a lot of time watching interviews with very many artists. I kind of stumbled onto this one. Usually I just enjoy their art form (the Music) and leave it at that. (Ok, I like to read lots of books though)
But this interview was so relaxed and candid on both sides that I kind of feel like I might've been missing something. Cool history and lots of good stories. Kind of opened my eyes that some people are so much cooler than the daily crap that seems to be force fed to the masses and dulls our senses. I seem to have forgotten that. Colour me awake now.
A little late but not too late.
