Two of my basses have wooden endpins from KC Strings: Bass Stuff - Bass End Pins - K.C. Strings Violin Shop
Just wondering what has happened to KC strings wooden end pins ? Would you happen to know anyone else supplying these? Thanks!
It takes a little more than 10 minutes, but I turn mine with a 10mm carbon fiber rod through the middle. I find making sawdust relaxing.
Home Depot online or instore. 1/2” or 5/8” white oak dowel rods. 36” $4.00. Use a hack saw for a precision cut at home to what what ever length. in fact several lengths to try. Plastic tips easy to find there or at Amazon. I had three dowels and cut into a dozen lengths for the Lammax System of angled endpin. Easy try out before spending much money.
Here are the 2 I made for my main bass, yes it is pretty red. This has reminded me that I need to make one for my most recent bass. Yay - another covid project!.
I hope that I'm not wasting space on this particular space but since I joined the conversation here, I may as well continue. I just finished this to go with my Shen.
