That's it, I'm done this time.
Made out of parts I've gathered over the last year, just waiting for the right price and weight.

  • 1997 MIM neck 7.25" radius
  • Roadworn fiesta red body
  • vintage saddle bridge.
  • Fender nitro tort pickguard.
  • Jason Lollar overwound P pickup
  • CTS 450G pots(250k), vintage cloth wiring, Switchcraft output jack, NOS Russian K42 PIO cap .1uF
  • My old Labella flats

If it's a MIM Standard neck it's a 9.5" radius. The MIM's that are 7.25" are the Classic 50's, Road Worn, and probably some artist models. I'd also say that it's a MIM Standard neck because the truss rod adjusts at the headstock.

This is why I always think if you KNOW what you're doing and carefully pick your parts and can assemble it properly, why on earth would I give Fender and Musician's Friend five grand in this case, when the only thing I'm missing is the 'Certificate of Authenticity' ???

Here it comes . . . . . But the resale on the Custom Shop piece is way better!

If I lose a hundred or two on a parts bass, it won't keep me up nights. I'd be FAR more worried about losing my shirt trying to resell a 5-grand P Bass !

Yeah, not to mention the constant worry that every time you touched it you were somehow detracting from that mythical resale value, not even to mention the concerns and anxiety caused by taking it out of your house to actually play.

Seeing the way the OP sourced his parts for this build , I'm sure he would get his TI flats the same way.....used and at a great discount.

If it's a Pino project , he should not deny that those TI flats are at least worth a shot .
