That is a good match, the TX600 puts out 400wrms@ 4 ohms, and less wattage at 8. So no real danger of blowing the speakers
But it can still get very very loud... I run my TX600 into two twelves and it can get outrageously loud!
That's kind of a fudged 'peak instantaneous rating' in the TX600 spec sheet, not rms continuous power. I have opened up my TX600 to change the preamp tube and the ICEpower amp module inside is clearly marked the 400 wrms model. Kinda fuzzy math, you'll notice no mention of RMS in TX600 docs. The module inside is spec'd for 400wrms@4ohms and (IIRC) 300wrms@8ohms...From Hartke site:
TX-600 Specifications
- Rated Output Power: 600 watts @ 4 ohms, 450 watts @ 8 ohms
That makes sense considering a lot of owners complain about the output of the TX-600...that it just doesn’t sound like it.That's kind of a fudged 'peak instantaneous rating' in the TX600 spec sheet, not rms continuous power. The brand new LX-series Hartkes just being released this week are a whole another story. Those ones are rated RMS continuous! 500WRMS and 800WRMS!! That's also true of the later TX300; it's RMS rated, real 300wrms...
