I left Youtube to playing in the background and it randomly played an old song by the French artist Francis Cabrel (1977). I had not listened to this song after I picked up the bass when I was 17. And I just realized how good the bass line is.
Francis has had a big and long career in France so his songs were on the radio when I was a kid but I never paid attention to the instrumentation.
After this discovery I researched who the bassist was and it turned out to be a pretty big name in the pretty small scene of Jazz Prog. Bernard Paganotti of Magma. No wonder it sounded so good. I find it so musical and creative. Is that a Fretless or a double bass by the way ?
