I’ve been thinking about getting rid of my Chancellor wah and grabbing the Xotic. The Chancellor is actually pretty great on bass (the UK voice, at least) but I’m not a huge fan of it on guitar and I don’t really need two wahs in my life. In fact, I only really even keep the chancellor in rotation because my rock band has one song that we recently recorded and are currently pushing as the single and the fuzz/wah sound on the bass is a crucial element in that tune.
In my hardcore funkadelic-type band in which I play guitar, the wah is a fully integrated part of what I do, so ideally I’d like a wah that can do both.
But this is talkBASS after all, so please tell me about your experiences with the Xotic on bass! And failing that, please tell me about your personal favourite bass wah and what you tend to use it for. To be clear, we’re looking for treadle wah content in this thread - envelope filters like the Xero and the MF101, as cool as they are, need not apply.
