Here are some of my options:
Used 2014 Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar V $260 (local)
Used Yamaha RBX375 ~$250 (5 hr drive, each way)
Yamaha trbx305 $320 (after tax, new)
Yamaha trbx505 $450 (reverb, shipped)
PRS Kingfisher or Kestrel $425-450 (reverb or a 6 hr drive, each way)
Yamaha 605 $450 or 500 (local, 1 hr drive)
Older used Yamaha 765a ~$300-350
Any particular one of these you'd pick over the other, and why?
#1 would prefer a 24 fret bass
#2 Dont require a 5 string although it would be nice for some applications
#3 Yamahas- I've owned and rbx375 previously, unfortunately i gave it to a family member a few years ago, and i thought it was a good bass.
*To me, the RBX375 & RBX765a feel like the best buys, bang for the buck-wise. Any particular reason the 765, despite being older is a much bett3r bass?
I see a lot pf people gushing on here over the BB series, but those dont have 24 frets and are more expensive, apart from the very lowest-end model(s) or ones that are damaged (they also look like a Fender knockoff imo).
I do own a PRS Std SE 24 guitar, and its AMAZING in pretty much every way. Sadly, I don't think they make a 5 string bass, at least not that I've seen.
Fwiw, amps/Rigs:
Hartke B60 practice amp
GB gbe400 head + GK neo 412 cab
Thanks!
