I want to look for a passive bass 5 string, now I'm interested in the yamaha bb1025 (x), if there are any of you have this bass , did you think the bass is quite nice to play songs from various genre? I play all around music. Whether you think this bb1025 yamaha bass are good enough or there's may be another suggestions? I have agulilar tone hammer as a preamp and DI, so I just want a passive bass (5string)..please help me out..Thanks...!!

Of all the many sub 800 euro 5 string basses,, this to my ears has the best sounding low B for a regular 34" scale bass.

Not sure why that is.. Brass nut, 5 piece maple/mahogany neck (stiff), tight neck joint, with a good modern 4 bolt construction, pickups, solid bridge with a string-through 45 degree angle. Most 34" scale basses in that price range just have a weak flubby low B..

If you cannot find a BB1025, I recommend a bass I own and love, the TMB605. It has Nordstrand designed pickups, and sounds fine passive, but also has a two band eq when you want a boost.

That was me a month or so ago at church backing the Praise Team.

That is just a little Old School slap.
