Yamaha RBS50 truss rod

Been browsing this place for a number of years now and finally needed to join.

So I bought a Yamaha RBS50 (circa 1993) at a second hand shop a few days back. Love the look of it and it played like a dream, but I do need to do a couple of repairs. Can someone tell me what kind of truss rod nut this is? I've never seen one before and I'm worried its actually broken. If this isn't broken, can someone tell me the type of wrench needed?

You need a wrench like this. I think it’s 7mm but I’m not completely sure.

strange every bass and guitar I've owned has had a female truss rod nut. I didn't know male ones were even a thing. And guess to be safe I should order a multi-set (its only a couple of bucks more). Thank you!

Both of my 90's LB-75 Carvin basses have truss rod nuts like this. I think they are the only basses I own that have them.
