I recently changed strings on my Yamaha SLB100, from Spirocores to D'Addario hybrids.
Because EUB does not have soundpost I took off all strings before putting new ones. Maye that was a mistake - I had to reput tailpiece and bridge.
After the change of strings, I can hear afterleght (part of strings between bridge and tailpiece) resonating. It is quite clear when playing staccato and it stops when tailpiece is held by hand.
I do not think, that this is a strings issue.
What should I check to try to eliminate this effect? It wasn't present before strings change.

This is a problem with many EUB's and the usual solution is to use foam or other material wedged between the strings and the tailpiece.I use a 3/4" diameter piece of foam about 6" long intended as insulation around windows and cut slots in it for the strings. It will have different effects depending on how tightly it is squeezed in and what type of material you use. In old posts here and elsewhere it has varied from different types of foam to socks and even stuffed toys.
A small foam mute is part of the original equipment that is shipped with the SLB200 but when I got mine(used) the mute was torn and not very effective.Lots of discussion about this problem on many EUB forums and sites.
Good luck!
