I just came into a Yamaha trb-4p for free. Surprisingly the neck was still good. That's a start. It's dinged to hell, the frets are lifting out pretty bad and are unable to be tapped back in. Must be glued or re-fretted and the preamp is fried. My question is what are the exact specs for this bass? Does anybody know? I know I'm gonna at least need a radius block to do the fret repair. Does anybody know the radius of the fretboard? Also is their anybody that possably makes a preamp that I can throw in there that works close to the same as the original so I can see if those piezos work still? I have it wired passave right now with 2 vol. And 2 tone. I have the action high enough that it won't buzz (whitch isent terrable. The frets aren't out a mile. Just a little at the edges) and it does work and sound great. At least passave mode does. I'm tryna resurect this thing and play it. Any info is much appreciated. I need allot of the specs to be able to order parts and tools and any advice on gluing down frets is much appreciated. If it's bad enough to bring to a luthier for fretwork then I'm just gonna have him rip the frets out and put new 1s in cuz their not in the best shape and not worth paying to prop them up for a while just to have to have it re-fretted anyway in a year or 2. So I'm gonna attempt this repair on my own for now. Anything as far as info or advice is better than nothing. Thanks in advance.
