yorkville XC410 vs ampeg fridge vs ampeg 610

Howdy y'all,

I just spotted two Yorkville xc410's for sale for $300 CAD for the pair. Seems like a great price if they are good. Literature says they are equipped with eminence drivers. I'm one of these guys who has more gear than talent lol.
Heads: RH450, 800RB, YBA200, SVT CL.
Cabs: Eden 212 XLT, 115 XLT, TC electronic 210.
I mainly use the RH450 and 212 XLT.
I'm thinking of getting a fridge to pair with the SVT as I don't like to drive the 212 so hard and into distortion. I also like the 610 but the 810 is punchier being a sealed cabinet. Not sure an 810 would fit in my first gen CRV lol.
Honesty I'm unlikely to ever need that much power but just want it drool drool.

Anybody have actual experience with the Yorkville XC410's??

2 x 410's + 2 x peavey FH-1 15" BW equipped horn loaded cabs = 2 ohm load = brown note.

Since the price is right I'll probably pick them up and sell it on if I change my mind. They are ported so maybe not as tight soundly as a fridge? Also could actually load and move them by myself although 80lbs each.

I suggest getting another Eden 2x12 so you have two matching, stackable cabs and be done. Sell all your other cabs to help pay for it. Then you'll have cabs that all your heads can work with. IMO/IME, save your money on the Yorkvilles. You won't be happy with the tone and the power handling.

600 W each sounds like sufficient power handling, I'm more concerned with the tone. You have direct experience with the Yorkvilles? What did you find lacking in the tone? Not enough punch and definition? Thanks!

Yorkville appears to be selling PA equipment only now. IME, Yorkville cabs were cheaply made and contained low quality components. Poor definition, too much distortion and low power handling.

I'd be curious how old the cabs are? I suggest testing the if you can. Maybe they improved over time?

FWIW, Yorkvilles would not make my list of cabs to buy.

Maybe another TBr can chime in?

Lol. So true. You're right. I'll pass. Even the thought of moving two 80lbs cabinets not to mention the SVT to run them makes me cringe. Thanks!
