I hear a lot of envelope filter sound clips and demos in this forum, but not a lot of envelope filter in a live or recorded full mix. Let's hear yours! I'll start (if I mention bass, guitar, etc., understand that it's all keyboard):

"Walk My Dog" - the envelope filter on bass is a Korg Synthepedal; on guitar is a Univox Effectmatic:

"Instrumental Funky Filter Jam" - the envelope filter on both bass and guitar is a Multivox Big Jam Spit Wah:

"Rudolph" - the envelope filter on bass is an EHX Q-Balls; on horns is a Line 6 Otto Filter:

"Jesus Is The Reason Why" - the envelope filter on bass is an EHX Bi-Filter rack unit:

Sweet! Love your stuff, particularly "Chasin' the Dawg."

It's especially nice to hear that synthy down sweep from the Manta. The Proton sounds great driven and alone. I didn't know it could get so vocal-sounding.

Alls I have is a few old tracks:

_________________________________________________
Recorded on a Korg D3200 DAW in a modest home studio with hardware synths and signal processors, 2008. An excuse to demo my then new Roscoe 5-string fretless bass and Moog MF-101 lowpass filter. As I play, the bass is triggering the MF-101's envelope follower, and I am changing its cutoff frequency with a CV pedal.

Recorded on a Korg D3200 DAW in a modest home studio with hardware synths and signal processors, 2009. Main bass is Roscoe LG-3000. Twin synths are Moog Little Phatty Stage II. Piano is Mellotron sample on Nord Wave. Envelope follower bass is 2008 American Standard Jazz Bass with heavy strings, Nordstrand pickups through Moog MF-101.

Recorded on a Korg D3200 DAW in a modest home studio with hardware synths and signal processors, 2009. Features two 5-string bass guitars: Valenti 5-string with Nordstrand stacked coil SCPB-type pickup for the main bass line; Clement 5-string with Norstrand P/J pickups for the lead line.

Recorded in Garageband on a laptop, 2014. Restored 1969 Fender Precision Bass with its original pickup: played for the bass line, and for the lead line through an Iron Ether Xerograph Deluxe.

Cool stuff, Snaxster!

Interesting...the Moog sounds quite a bit thicker and fuller than the Xero in your clips.

Thank you much, FF!

About comparison of the three tracks with MF-101 to the one with Xerograph Deluxe, the first thing I thought when I read your observation was:

All other things being equal (which they were not; sound design decisions included), the MF-101 tracks were recorded in my former home studio. I had some pretty nice audio equipment there, if not the finest recording medium.

But the Xerograph Deluxe track was post home studio. By then I had only some pedals, amps, and Garage Band on a laptop fed by an old A/D interface. That whole mix sounds harsh and dimensionless to me compared to the older first three tracks.

I can see how that could make a difference.

Here's mine... there's 3 basses on this mix, no guitars. Drums are courtesy EZDrummer 2. My Wonderlove Deluxe (bass 1) is on the entire track.

Bass 1 - Wonderlove Deluxe > You're Doom (in loop)
Bass 2 - You're Doom > Octave Up on TC Sub n Up
Bass 3 - You're Doom > TC Flashback 2
