I bought a zoom b3 and have found that I don't need a lot of it. So far, I like the Avalon u5 simulator (hope to buy the real thing at some point). I also love The Splitter and the ZNR noise reducer.

I play a rickenbacker and have always been interested in the Rick o sound, but it seems like a pain in the ass with the two cables, etc). The Splitter bundled in the B3 sounds great though and is easy. I was wondering if there was a single pedal that does the same thing. It looks like the Radial Tonebone might. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also on a noise gate? I have a dbx 160a compressor, but it doesn't cut the buzz like that ZNR patch on the Zoom B3.

I hope you'll forgive me asking, but why search for all these effects if you like them well enough on the unit you have?

I ask partly because I've grown weary of there always being something new to buy that does virtually the same thing as the old thing did, and partially because I don't know how many times I've been playing with my bands and thought of a different sound that might be able to fill space or do something with that I was able to create on the spot with my B3 or (in the past) my M13.

Its only two effects that Im looking for. I think it would be easier to use just two pedals then the going through the interface of the B3 plus it would probably take up less room.

I have a big pedalboard with several preamps, octave, chorus, compressor... the works, and a nice markbass amp. For rehearsals and very small gigs I just carry a Zoom MS-60B. It's a very decent all-in-one solution in small stages and cramped rehearsal studios, and covers most of the stuff I have on the pedalboard and some modern amp sims in a single "boss size" pedal. If only it had a exp.-vol. pedal jack it would be just perfect.
