Zoom MS-60b and b1on bass octaver disaster

Well after a spell of mixed results with the MS-60b which ranged from creating a very passable "sledgehammer" patch to disastrous live use where I could not recall my saved patches after inadvertently touching the wrong button and ending up in digital Wilderness. Great pedal and nice sounds but for an old duffer, hopeless in live use.

Enter the plastic b1on at €58! Wow, perfect.....doddle to use and learn. However, despite having read that b1on and ms-60b featured same effects engine, when I came to recreate my Peter Gabriel patch I tried same settings and got an unholy mess. The Bass Octaver seems to be the offender; the tracking sucks and there is a hideous digital artefact no matter the setting. I tried both pages of settings and multiple basses. Used a chain of 160 compressor, octaver, chorus and SVT but its hideous.

Can anyone help? Could mine be faulty?

I would love to keep the b1on, aside from the sucky octaver, it is exemplary but if need be, will step up to the b3n if/when it becomes available here in Spain.
