G and D string not cutting thru live

I’ve recently been having trouble with a couple basses in live settings. The
D and G strings just aren’t heard in the mix. They don’t Cut through like the E and A. Of course the E and A string will have a more rounder and present tone, but I’m talking almost non-existent sound in a live setting. (Please note I’ve adjusted pick-up height appropriately). Has anyone had experience with this issue? Could it be the actual pick-ups? Very frustrating. Any advise would be appreciated.
