At home they live on a little rack with a splitter feeding them both and a selector for the cabs behind the rack.

The Mediocre Bassist Club

I've been asked to fill in for a bassist who in undergoing chemo at the Christmas Carols for our community choir. First rehearsal is Monday and I have no idea of a set list or what keys anything will be in. Given that my ear is made of tin, I just hope that the music is a)readable and b)not too "out there". Having never heard them sing, and I've never played secular music, it will be interesting.
Give yourself credit, they asked you so your the man. Any doubts look cool and play quietly.
You’ll do fine.

New Tech 21 XB Driver

Gather that dialing in two different usable sounds on the XB is difficult if one of them uses Mix/Crossover mode. The XB Driver's strength seems to be in having a lot of adjustment range to really dial in distortion sounds, but not so much in terms of having the flexibility to dial in two or three tones that can be switched on the fly. Two good sounds may be achievable with a bit of compromise. However, perhaps it might be worthwhile to play to its strengths, and focus on creating the best single distortion tone possible. Gather that, similar to the DP-3X, many people are disappointed to find that the XB really works best either on or off, not as a channel switching drive pedal, which seems a tad less than expected given the cost. Broken record here, but it really seems like a pedal like this needs presets to offer that sort of flexibility.
I am thinking of just getting a used 2nd dp-3x… around 200€ here.

The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

My 6-year-old informed me that this picture is pretty enough to share.

Tube-driven VCA compressor with clean blend for parallel compression. I've been told people like that. I tried to keep it as small as possible, and this is (as you can probably tell) the same size as Underground Accelerator et al. I'm still waiting on the final nod to release it, but I'm personally very happy with how it sounds and feels.

@Sushi Box FX is the Single slice still based on your original Deep Dish, La-2A inspired comp, or did you revamp it all together. What tube do you have in there?

What's the current thought on using charts for live shows?

You know who wishes I would use charts? Photographers. After Sunday, one told me it's so nice how our singer is actually lit properly, and I was hard to photograph because my skin looks weird purple. The venue thought it would be cool to have blue stage lights, but the singer had a tablet, so... Of course on the way home the singer was talking about turning the brightness on the tablet down so it's easier on her eyes and also makes her less bright in photos.

I own a Harley Benton club

great instrument. I've had it and resold. Right near my house a guy is selling a second hand PB50 HB with upgrade!
Have you bought it yet? 😁

HELP, pick up switch, 4 attempts to fix it…

Hello, my 1996 4003 3 way switch is cracking up. I have operated 4 times. Used dexoit on contacts, 400 grit sandpaper on contacts and needle nose to pinch the metal tabs
Gets good for about an hour or so, then more cracking up. Ideas? Replace switch? Where to get one, Amazon? Don’t have aback up bass, rehearsal less than a week
Suggestions appreciated
Is yours a model with dual output jacks? The mono output utilizes a switching jack that can also get oxidized and potentially cause crackling and cut-out issues (especially with the bridge pickup, which is the pickup connected to the jack switch). There isn't much to the Switchcraft switch to go wrong after the things you've already tried, though another thing to check is that no wires are getting routed into the switch mechanism when you put the pick guard back on. Its very easy to accidentally get the neck pickup lead to rest across the switch if you aren't careful about where you rest it when replacing the pick guard (taping it down against the pick guard is a great idea to prevent this)

Dingwall Owners Club

Has anyone received their Super Series recently?
How long did it take from when you were told it was going into production to when you received it?

I was told they were going into production two weeks ago and every day since has felt like an eternity.....

Oh and has anyone got a Super J 3x with an alder body?
Most of the samples online are swamp ash, so it's hard to get reviews.
Balance, tone, etc.......

Hm, maybe my expectations were too high.
After about two hours with it, I can say it is a pedal that can produce good sounds.
Just again, at least for me, not usable at the same time.
I need a fairly aggressive metal tone. The pedal can do that in mix mode. It is a bit different from my favorite dug sound, but very good. I prefer the dug though.
I didn’t expect three good sounds usable without knob turning.
Just an aggressive mix sound with distortion and one clean aggressive.
I have yet to find that setting. Given my mix sound is a bit more extreme, right now I don’t think it’s possible.
I find it easier in CharlyGrove‘s examples when the sounds are not too different.
Imo the mix mode produces the best results for every scenario.
I will keep trying since I have plenty of time before returning, but so far I am underwhelmed.

On the plus side it is good build quality, very low noise in drive mode and it looks great.

Yet if nothing changes, I cannot justify 699€ for one sound at a time.

Presets like on the vt bass deluxe seem to be the only way against all the modelers on the market for less money.
