Fender leak - American Vintage Series II is coming?

Sorry to resurrect this post but as it is kind of the official thread about these basses there I go.

My seafoam green jazz is coming and I want to replace the pickguard with a mint white one, anyone who successfully did it? I'm not sure about which one would fit.

I've seen this one

005-4081-000 WD USA Pickguard for Fender Jazz Bass '62 RI 3-ply Mint Pickguard Thumbrest Hole | Reverb

Any idea if that would fit? Or what I should be looking for? I have to order it from USA to Europe so with the shipping costs would be around 90€, that's some money and I don't want to lose it.

Thank you

It should be a perfect fit. Those mint guards don’t show up too often. However, be aware that this one isn’t made by Fender. It’s a WD product. You can probably order direct from WD at a lower cost.

Thanks, I bought it, I hope it fits. On WD site the shipping alone was a whopping 60$, making it more expensive and ebay apparently ensures that you don't have to pay any kind of customs when receiving it. I'll post some pictures if I'm lucky!

Got mine on clearance for $800 off. I guess it didn’t sell because the action was super high and the fretboard was dried out and nasty looking. Easy fixes

That's an awesome deal! Very nice snag. I need to add a Jazz to the stable and then I'll have the Leo Trio. That or a USA Geddy is what I waiver between.
I was looking at both as well. Obviously the price was too good to pass up. I think the warmth of tone from the 66 is also a huge factor for me.

USA Geddy was mentioned:
Both the USA and the MIM Geddy, unless they fixed it in the last year or so, have a string spacing problem at the bridge. You can see it on good photos at e.g. SW.
A-D are spaced too far apart or A is too close to E. Can't remember.
No one seems to notice, but I eventually just changed the bridge.

Here's a photo.

EDIT: Just remembered that the bridge on my MIM wasn't mounted straight either. I found that the screw holes in the wood were located right, but the bridge had been tightened down without holding it straight, and it stuck? in the finish? Lastly, due to its softness, the MIM Geddy doesn't seem to be "your grandfather's" alder, but I guess that might apply to many others too.
On the bright side, the pickups turned out to be my favorites (for clarity), and now reside in my roasted ash American Pro.
In my MIM Geddy are now Brantley Rewinds Geddy clones, and they're good too.

They had one in a store in NC they moved to the clearance section, came really close myself to snatching it, but have too many. I picked it up when they first got it and the action was sky high from the factory. If it's the same one, unlikely, it's interesting they wouldn't take a few minutes to tweak it. Nice bass.
