I can't address your question about "unaltered", but the radiused pickup cover and poles makes it very easy to achieve an even string-to-string sound on the P5, IME. I'd expect the ideal height will vary based on your choice of strings and the rest of your setup and rig. Do you mind sharing your concern with it?

I have two P4 basses and just prefer to have them setup with the factory specs as a starting point.

I didn’t measure mine when I got it brand new. But I did end up lowering my Moollon p pickup from stock to where I thought it sounded best.

Mine has never been touched. I can measure in the morning. Do you want Metric or imperial?
