10 best of all time list

So, in my normal perusing of bass guitars on the internet (a daily occurrence), I came across this:

The 10 Most Important Electric Basses in Rock & Roll History

I was curious if the bass playing community saw any glaring omissions?

Five or six I really like, certainly some great contributions in the bass world, but not a top ten greatest bass list.
Thunderbird lovers and Alembic fans might have something to say.

I kind of gagged on the assertion by the author that Chris Squire was a big influence on Stanley Clarke and Jaco Pastorius. Sorry, but just no.

The Alembic has to be on any list like this. Not only did Jack Casady, John McVie and Phil Lesh, etc. play them during influential times, but they pretty much kicked off the active bass and 5 string BEADG bass waves.

I can't lie......I skimmed and missed that part. I'd have to agree with you though.

I always saw the Danelectro Longhorn as a bit of an oddity. Interesting ,but I wouldn't call it top 10.

Yup. The first one I saw in action was played by Tom Fowler.

To be fair, I think the Ox owned 3 of every bass ever made.

I agree. Just the fact that John Enwtistle played Alembic for years is enough reason for Alembic to be on the list.

Could also mention Steinberger. I've never been a fan of them but a lot bassists played them in the early 80's.
