1964 P Bass Pickup Value?

Another vote to sell the body and build yourself a potentially great bass.

Keep the body!
Like people who keep original pickups in the case for future resell, any parts bass built with all the rest of the parts would be much more valuable if you still have the “original” body.
It would be proof positive that the neck and parts all originally came from the same instrument and help explain the decision why it was replaced with a repro. Lol

Someone mentioned ebony on the fretboard. I have a 1966 P-bass to which I applied linseed oil to the rosewood board. It looks just like this one.

yeah, its rosewood. somebody put polyurethane on the fretboard and thats why it looks so dark

It's a dark and lovely brazilian rosewood fingerboard.

It is Brazilian rosewood, it looks dark already and it seems even darker because someone brushed polyurethane or something over it

I was not expecting that. But then again, if the previous owner made extreme mods. Why not?

That is not Ebony, that is Rosewood!
