2 Notes Opus

27.5 x 12.5 ghostfire. To my feel not much different from pedaltrain. Couldn't pass it up for the price.

Edit: extremely lightweight, 2 ports in the front.
I have a Ghost Fire Baby 1 - 14" x 5.5" that is the same size as the PT Nano. I don't think there is a bit of difference in the board itself, but the PT case is a bit heavier duty.

I have my eyes out for the best bang for the buck, but it needs to work well.

$110.00 on this lil darling... I'll find the right board!

Cheers OPUS the World...

Just an update after some serious pedal tossin', wheeling and dealing and bare knuckle negotiations...

I decided that the SA Gemini I grabbed is not the best fit and will go back to the Boss BF-3 Flanger for the series of Boss effects in this arrangement.

Who knew?

I have the BF-3 on the launch pad with the EQ2 and Spectrum @ my (and possibly your favorite Indiana music shop), found out I will not need the separate SA Tap Tempo Switch to control the post-Opus stereo effects loop when using the SA SOLEMAN midi controller (I'm so glad!), found a mint Boss RC-5 Looper at a crazy deal of $129 on lay-a-way and the Ghost Fire Baby 1 Pedalboard/case, a small pile of extra crap and $25 for a Pedaltrain PT-1 22"x12.5" board in great condition. (A trade deal in the works for an SA 164 HUB for a the new SA 168 midi router device I stripped off of the SA Gemini deal I'm turning right now...)

Boss RE-202 is just waiting for additional funding...

I've also decided that I would connect the OPUS to the Midi chain, because why not, it just may come in handy.

New developments...

A recommendation was made to put a Broughton BBA between the SA Spectrum and the Opus, so I found one on 'verb for $65 ($95) and pulled the trigger. I'll run it off the OPUS 12v power supply for a tad more performance in clarity, removal of unwanted sub frequencies and lowest signal:noise ratio possible before the IR loader.

(Also, the trade deal on the SA 164 HUB for the SA168 midi router device has been confirmed for Friday afternoon.)

I'm on a roll...:woot:

Inquiring minds want to know...:cigar:

There I was, no sh*t...on my way to Seattle and it struck me, I may have left the SA 168 in the house now an hour away...?

Got to my trade deal, popped the trunk and no SA168 device...
:banghead:

Oh well...my MIDI will be:

#1 SA Soleman midi Out 5 DIN > EQ2 > SA 168 > Spectrum > 1/8" TRS midi Thru > OPUS

#2 SA Soleman midi Out > Boss SL-2, RE-202, RC-5

It's more than sufficient to totally support the ENTIRE board...

Oh No! I have done this kind of thing so many times before so feel for you @PhatBottomBass1!
Let us know how you get on without the SA 168!

Thanks for getting in touch and i'm sorry to hear you are having issues here. Ross from Two notes here.

In Torpedo Remote, where is your input signal sitting on the bar graph out of interest? It may be that you need to provide OPUS with a bit more signal from your Science Mother pre. You may find you can reduce the Power Amp volume when pushing the input signal a little more.

On a related note, how are you powering OPUS? Are you using the included power supply?

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I am getting great results by pushing the input level of the Opus with my MS-60B+"preamps and drives.

Solved most of my hiss issues.

Light touch with the enhancer (or off) and power amps go a long way for my taste.

There are some fantastic clean to EOB guitar tones in the Opus as well.

Even with my Tele, the MS-60B+ with the 1073 preamp gooses the Opus input level nicely.

I have the SA168 router but didn't acquire the SA164 (HUB) unit.
IMG_20241030_104756498_HDR.jpg

The real advantage of the SA164 is if/when you have up to five (5) One Series pedals that can have knob changes captured for easier midi "scene" recall by the SA pedals proprietary midi control.

There is no function the EQ2 preforms that is "knob" determinative after being set and stored and the SPECTRUM is now the only other SA pedal that I plan to use with presets to recall. The HUB is just taking up space and a power distribution port requirement in this situation.

Standard midi messaging meets all requirements with SA SOLEMAN, all connectivity metrics are SA168 supported and the SA168 device uses pedal provided 9v power. No drag on this system.

In this functional arrangement, the control key is SOLEMAN, (not the HUB), in full interoperability best practices with OPUS and the SA EQ2 for time based effect loop post-Opus routing and engage/disengage use. The SA168 router device makes the single SPECTRUM pedal midi accessable (without the HUB) and passing standard midi Thru messaging for the OPUS.

I have come to realize that in this application, having two OPUS cabinet/amp IR configurations will be advantageous with a One Control Crimson Red Bass Preamp & Two Notes WGrandBlvd (Ampeg B15N cabinet) IR for the smooth R&B/funk tone. Then having another synth/rock/EDM tone on tap can be channel #2 of a "single" Bass amp on stage at one time orthodoxy!

Gotta 💕 the OPUS...! :bassist:

Great to hear this - We testing OPUS with a number of preamps during development to make sure it works in this context. Can we ask: are you bypassing the TSM preamps in the device in your rig?

Cheers Two Note World...

Just a quick pick as pieces are coming onboard.... :bassist:

My RC-5 deal is still holding and may have it this next week. The SA Soleman midi controller is locked down. The most appropriate and best deal on the Flanger is still in flex and the final Boss RE-202 will be the last heavy lift pedal.

(I am selling my Roland D Bass 210 Combo and will be using the EQ2 as a master Stereo EQ/Gate on the effects after the looper. Then using the EQ2 Expression function as a Volume pedal rather than an On/Off footswitch with everything in the loop on midi control anyway.)

If a tape echo is your thing you really should do a deep dive on the RE-202... amazing!

Looking killer! It's great to see this taking shape!

RE the RE-202, it is great - I actually had an original Space Echo back in my Studio Engineer days - the pedal is an amazing replication of this for live use and I have one on my Guitar Board as a permanent fixture!

Did a bunch of Pedalboard Feng Shui yesterday...

I figured out the best layout and have my extra midi cables and D'Addario patch cables on the order going out on 4 December. I also abandoned the Flanger in favor of a Boss pedal called the MO-2 Multi Overtones. It is one of the stereo Multi-Dimension Processing pedals put out about 11 years ago or so. Bass players with an opinion really like it. Should be more useful than a Flanger, in general, or at least a road less traveled...it's sorta like a EHX POG, but not exactly, it is polyphonic to start, has a detune modulation, tone, blend (mix) control. Also, a three (3) position selector that gives +1, +1/-1 & -1 settings.

Also picked up the RC-5 Looper ($110) today while selling my combo amp. (It is possible that I will have my RE-202 Space Echo this weekend, if all goes well🤞🏼)

The pickup/shipping of the SA midi controller is in the works. Last year at this time a good dude in LA put an add in Craigslist near hear asking for help in getting a vintage Tascam Mixer from a store that wouldn't ship. The guy was cool as H*ll and did what he said, it was obtained and I dropped the box with FedEx and no headaches. He is returning the favor for me.

It gives you faith in humanity! :cigar:

You may have already seen these, but here's a good deal on that boss re 202

IMG_20241125_225024506_HDR.jpg

The Boss RC-5 Stereo Looper and the SA Soleman have arrived, there has been an adaptive Feng Shui adjustment and an experimental addition to come..

I have the Boss BC-1X compressor coming, then going after the Spectrum Intelligent Filter, then to the One Control Crimson Red Bass Preamp and then to the Broughton BBA then to OPUS.

But, before the Spectrum, I am going to put the Boss SYB-5 Synthesizer upfront. It has a wet/dry true bypass stereo output to go into the Spectrum that can be independently processed and mixed to mono out to the BC-1X multi band compressor. The SYB-5 also has a nice HOLD function for the wet output only. So I can have a square wave into the Spectrum being processed and an infinite hold, while the dry signal is doing its own thing. Definitely a nice change it up on the "1" for a bit of intensity.

I have that Synthesizer eyeballed and should have it before long. The (stereo output) Boss MO-2 Multi Overtones after OPUS, then the SL-2 Slicer to the RE-202 on the bottom next to the EQ2. The RC-5 prior to the master EQ.

All the remaining patch and midi cables will arrive with the BC-1X top of December.

What is the bass in the background out of interest?
