US: West 2018 Emeral City Bass Convention - September 9th

That could be really cool. Driving I-5 sucks and definitely much more so when I'm tired or it's dark. I'm willing to help with gas or whatever. I'm in Olympia.

Maybe try hitting up Roger Baer, he lives in Olympia these days. I may or may not be going that way this time, but I'll be staying in Tukwila overnight after the show anyway and will probably use the I-90 route either coming or going. I-5 is definitely not my favorite. If I catch wind of any Portlanders heading up I will try to connect you, there are usually at least a few who do it as a day trip.

BTW, out of towners coming into town for the weekend might want to consider going to see Skerik's very cool band with Damian Erskine on bass at Nectar Sat. night. May have to change my plans to accommodate that.

Wife's been fighting flu's and summer allergies and I'm not sure she'll feel comfortable my leaving but hopefully by then she'll be ok for me being gone for a couple days. I like Tukwila. Like to go to the GC down there are I'm wondering if they still have the "Stairway to Heaven Prohibited" sign on the acoustic guitar room door.

If anyone has connections send them my way. I don't know of anyone from here that's going.

Yes! Just a few days away -- wow this year is flying by.

There will be a buffet again this year, of course! There will be pickles, slow-smoked brisket and chicken, buns, and BBQ Beans - very similar to last year. To get a plate will only be $10.

Unlike last year, Vivian and I will need to handle all of the money handling part of it. We will be able to accept PayPal or cash. If you'd like to pre-pay (i.e. pay before day of), that is easy for us to accommodate as well.

We hope to see many of you there again this year. Please, help us by spreading the word about it this week and let's make this the best year yet!

Thanks Ray. Those of us who have been to and/or organized some of these types of events deeply appreciate all that you and Vivian do to make it happen. And that goes double from all of the Marco Bass crew, who will be represented in very full force this year.

FYI: I believe they’re at the High Dive, not Nectar. They’re just down the street from each other, so it’ll be easy to sort out regardless.

Not according to Damian's FB feed a few weeks ago, or this, but thanks for the heads up. You may very easily be correct.

I invited Damian to drop by on Sunday, never know...
