I was actually wondering if the active part of this bass was only from the boost section…Guess I could have taken the battery out to check but then thought it may be set up to where it needs a battery to power the pre regardless of boost use.

You have a great looking bass, kudo’s on getting set-up to your liking. I also added the black hardware (also budget friendly) but work perfectly well which is one of the gripes (the cheap feeling stock tuners) as well as the stock neck feel not being great.
The neck I added also feels fantastic so I guess I bypassed a couple of complaints before I even had a chance to fire it up.
